In recognition of their ultimate sacrifice for the survival of the nation and the peaceful life of Burkinabe citizens, soldiers who served in the KAIZEN unit were honored with a monument. A symbol of their patriotic commitment, bravery, and selflessness for the good of the nation. Erected within the Naaba Koom II camp in Ouagadougou, this monument was officially inaugurated on Friday, January 10.

This reflects the determination of Burkina Faso’s authorities to give due recognition to those who have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly, as well as those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism and for the reclamation of the country’s territorial integrity. These fighters, fully aware of the risks, remain determined and continue daily operations against their adversaries on the battlefield.

Those who have fallen with arms in hand will forever remain heroes of the nation. The initiative of the monument is also seen as a way to continue motivating those who remain committed and determined to restore peace, stability, and security—key elements of the development that Burkinabe people aspire to.

According to reports, this KAIZEN unit of the national army was officially operationalized in November 2022. Since then, it has successfully carried out around twenty missions, enabling the country of upright men to stand firm despite terrorist and imperialist threats.
