Burkina Faso/Counter-terrorism: Government delegation joins Sebba fighters
The authorities of Burkina Faso remain committed to their principle of proximity with the combat forces (FDS and VDP). This dynamic was initiated by President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, with the aim of regularly showing support to these fighters engaged at the front for the reconquest of the territory and the effective security of the country against the enemies of the bush.
The government delegation, consisting of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, as well as liaison officers from the Sahel States Alliance (AES), went to engage with the troops in Sebba, to motivate them for the continuation of their mission. One by one, the officials praised and encouraged these fighters who are firmly committed to the nation’s cause.
It should be noted that the last days of January were marked by intense military operations in this locality and many others across the Sahel region of Burkina Faso. Whether offensive or retaliatory operations, several terrorists were brought down by the combat forces’ gunfire, allowing the populations in these areas to live in peace.
These fighters were also urged to remain vigilant and discerning in order to counter any media manipulation that could undermine the ongoing operations. The delegation reassured the troops and the people of Sebba of the determination of the country’s highest authorities to do everything possible for a more effective and intense fight.
