Burkina Faso/Counter-terrorism: HRW only good at counting the dead?
The human rights organization, now regarded as a crucial tool in the hands of imperialists and neo-colonialists against African nations, is believed to have been created solely to issue reports on war victims, particularly the dead. When it comes to countries targeted by Western imperialists, it is also suspected of fabricating false documents.
The organization’s latest report on Burkina Faso’s anti-terrorism efforts is a clear example of its biased behavior. Rather than supporting the Burkinabe authorities and people in their fight against armed terrorist groups to protect the right to life, Human Rights Watch has made its choice: to stand idly by as criminals sow terror.
It has blatantly shown its role in producing reports—often false—against those fighting for their survival. The organization has even gone so far as to predict the worst for 2024 in the “Land of Upright People”, simply because it aims to pave the way for terrorists and their sponsors. By manufacturing false figures and fake testimonies about the victims of this war, the organization misrepresents the reality on the ground.
Its relentless focus on Burkina Faso, amplified by so-called “terrorist media”, serves one goal : to discredit the Burkinabé government’s ability to face its enemies without imperialist military agreements. The message is clear : without Western foreign forces, the Sahel, and Burkina Faso in particular, would not be able to stand against terrorist groups. This is why the encouraging results achieved by Burkina Faso are dismissed and undermined by this organization.
