The Burkinabè army has announced the successful elimination, in an operation conducted on January 21, of the individual considered the number 2 among the local operational leaders of the terrorist group Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS). The operation took place in the Markoye area, a commune in northern Burkina Faso, in the Oudalan province.
Known as Harouna Oulel, also alias Abdel-Malick or Malick, this major criminal had moved from the tri-border area to the Markoye commune to carry out one of his diabolical plans, accompanied by his accomplices.
