Burkina-Faso: Dairy products from Café Rio certified «Normes Burkina Faso»

On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, during a press conference in Bobo-Dioulasso, the National Union of Mini-dairies and Local Milk Producers of Burkina (UMLPB) discussed the certification of GAPAL (Support Group for Small and Medium Enterprises and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Burkina Faso) as well as two yoghurts from the Café Rio dairy.

This certification of dairy products is a first in Burkina. Until now, no dairy products have been certified in the country, as pointed out by Adama Ibrahim Diallo, president of the UMLPB.

Café Rio Dairy, the first of its kind, produces between 1.500 and 2.000 litres of milk per week and has received encouragement from the Provincial Directorate of Animal and Fisheries Resources.

In addition to certified products, the brand also offers a wide range of products rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium and phosphorus, as well as vitamins A and B, thus strengthening the immune system.

Founded in 2007, UMPLB is a network of 4.000 producers and 99 dairies across Burkina Faso. It works with various partners to promote and enhance the local milk sector, while committing to providing high quality dairy products, maintaining high standards, ensuring food safety and promoting health through their products.
