Burkina Faso: Defense forces neutralize several terrorists near Tikaré (Yatenga)
This Sunday, October 15, 2023, in a demonstration of resilience and determination, the Defence and Security Forces (SDF) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) successfully repelled a terrorist attack near Tikaré, in the province of Yatenga, in northern Burkina Faso.
The fierce fighting took place early in the morning, when terrorists launched an attack on a security position near Tikaré. The Defence and Security Force(SDF) and VDP responded with courage, repelling the attackers and forcing them to retreat to the north.
However, the defeat on the ground did not mark the end of the commitment of the Burkinabe security forces. Aerial vectors were rapidly deployed to pursue fleeing terrorists. Despite attempts to cover up the criminals, the aerial vectors managed to locate and successfully neutralize them.
This victory testifies to the professionalism and effective coordination between the various branches of the security forces under the coordination of Captain Ibrahim Traoré. It also underlines their determination to curb this phenomenon, which threatens the security and stability of the region.
