Burkina Faso: Fight against insecurity / Niou sistrict now has a police station
The Burkinabe authorities are making significant efforts in the fight against insecurity, particularly terrorism. A new police station will be inaugurated next week in the district of Niou, located in the Central Plateau region. The government’s objective is to significantly improve security services through a community-based approach that is deeply aware of local security issues.
During an inauguration ceremony attended by local authorities, the governor of the Central Plateau region, Sy Assètou Barry/Traoré, officially opened the Niou police station.
The chief of the Niou canton, Naba Karfo, took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the government for its efforts in enhancing the security network of the country. He noted that the opening of this security service meets a long-standing need of the local population and wished the new police officers in Niou a successful mission.
The governor of the Central Plateau region reiterated the transitional government’s strong commitment to prioritizing the fight against insecurity in general and terrorism in particular. She emphasized that bringing the National Police closer to the people of Niou is a tangible manifestation of this commitment.
« The opening of district police stations aligns perfectly with the government’s policy vision, making these places not only centers of public security and administrative services but also symbols of our sovereignty », she stated, paying a heartfelt tribute to all those who work daily for a peaceful Burkina Faso.
