Burkina-Faso: More than 125 million euros raised in September to help Burkina Faso regain control of the country
Since the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, decreed general mobilisation in Burkina Faso to deal with the crisis that the country is going through, all Burkinabe, including the diaspora, have responded to the call. The mobilisation (financial and in terms of human resources) of the sons and daughters of Faso to reconquer the national territory was unprecedented.
In terms of financial mobilisation, Burkinabe from the interior and the diaspora have not been slow to respond. According to the monthly report drawn up by the donations management committee, the contribution of Burkinabe to the peace effort amounted to more than 125 million CFA francs for the month of September.
The committee also received donations in kind, comprising consumables (tonnes of rice, maize, beans, oil, pharmaceutical products, etc.) and non-consumables (rolling stock and field equipment, clothing, blankets, etc.).
These donations were earmarked for the forces of law and order, volunteers for the defence of the homeland, internally displaced persons, victims of the crisis, and so on. Some resources enabled the transition to acquire combat equipment and materials. Others contributed to the training, care and repair of equipment.
The contribution of the people of Burkina Faso to the peace effort bears witness to their commitment and patriotism in the fight to regain their homeland. And this is an opportunity for the President of the Transition, through the Commission, to salute the efforts of all men of integrity.
