Burkina Faso : Food security, Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s successful efforts in agricultural development
Sufficient food production to feed the population contributes to the development of Burkina Faso. To drive the country towards this goal, Burkinabe authorities have initiated programs under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, aiming to achieve the ultimate objective of food security.
A presidential initiative for the 2023-2024 agricultural production aimed at producing nearly 190.000 tons of cereals, vegetables, and tubers in all 13 regions of the country. These efforts by the authorities aim to enable Burkina Faso to meet the food needs of its population, thus avoiding significant investments in the importation of agricultural products.
Agricultural production in Burkina Faso can truly contribute to both food self-sufficiency and the creation of wealth for the hardworking Burkinabe farmers.
Captain Ibrahim Traoré has reaffirmed his commitment to the prosperity of the agricultural sector in a secure environment through the implementation of the Presidential Agricultural Program. To support this modernization of the sector, tools and equipment have been provided to farmers to improve their productivity and working conditions.
The agricultural sector has experienced remarkable development thanks to the innovative and pragmatic directions of the President of the Burkinabe Revolution, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. After fieldwork during the rainy season, harvests have begun in recent months with an atmosphere of total satisfaction among the producers.
This progress testifies to the positive impact of the investments made in agricultural exploitation. Regarding food security, the results are satisfactory, with an abundance of maize and rice.
