Since December 7, 2024, Ghana has a new President at its helm: John Dramani Mahama, who won the presidential election with a landslide victory. This transition marks a significant turning point in the country’s political life.
On this occasion, the President of the Burkinabe Revolution, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, sent his warm congratulations to the new Ghanaian head of state, wishing him great success in fulfilling this important mission in the service of the Ghanaian people.
Captain Ibrahim Traoré also emphasized his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Ouagadougou and Accra, reaffirming his availability to work toward enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
The head of state stressed the importance of working together to promote peace, stability, and regional integration—essential values for the development of West African states. Burkina Faso and Ghana share exemplary cooperative relations in several sectors, particularly in economic, cultural, and security areas.
These privileged ties are reflected in frequent exchanges and regular consultations on matters of common interest, whether it be the fight against insecurity, cross-border trade, or managing climate-related challenges.
This renewed commitment between the two leaders is part of a regional solidarity dynamic, in a context marked by critical issues for the future of West African populations. The strengthened cooperation between Burkina Faso and Ghana could serve as a lever to jointly tackle these challenges and contribute to a more prosperous and united West Africa.
