Burkina Faso: Improving the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights for better institutional governance
During the Council of Ministers presided over by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, responsible for relations with institutions, adopted a new decree regarding its organization. This decree, following the revision of government responsibilities carried out in August and September 2024, restructures the ministry to meet the expanded missions assigned to it.
This reorganization supports the government’s efforts to establish solid foundations in justice, human rights, and institutional cooperation.
The redesign of the organizational structure addresses the new imperatives of the decree issued on October 4, 2024, which aims to ensure a more harmonized and effective ministerial management. This adaptation will enable the ministry to fulfill its missions with an updated working framework, aligned with national objectives and citizens’ expectations regarding justice and the protection of fundamental rights.
This new organizational model is intended not only to ensure efficiency for public administration but also to serve as a lever to strengthen citizens’ trust in judicial institutions and their access to transparent and rigorous services.Updated, the ministry ensures better coordination among its various branches and adapts its governance tools to current challenges.
