Burkina Faso: «It is time we keep the enemy from entering our villages”, said President Ibrahim Traoré.

During his visit to the East of the country, President Ibrahim Traoré, as he does well, had a meeting with the local community leaders. The Head of State took advantage of the occasion to urge the population of the East to be more united in the fight against terrorists throughout the national territory.

Faced with the terrorist threat affecting the East region, President Ibrahim Traoré emphasized the need for the sons and daughters of the East to unite and show solidarity in the face of this scourge that threatens their region.

To that effect, President Ibrahim Traoré called on the local community leaders to resist and organize themselves to confront terrorism.

«It is time we prevent the enemy from entering our villages», President Traoré declared. Actions are underway, including the reorganization of the national armed forces and the acquisition of equipment for the benefit of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteer Defense Forces (VDP), with the aim of charting a new course in the fight against armed terrorist groups.

President Ibrahim Traoré urged the population of the East region to rally around the FDS and VDP to defeat the terrorists, as in President Traore’s words, “they cannot conquer this people, we do not negotiate and we will not negotiate.”

In front of the chiefs of the various components of the Defense and Security Forces operating in the East region, President Ibrahim Traoré outlined new guidelines for better coordination of interventions, so that the efforts of the different combat forces can contribute more effectively to the security of the region and the entire country.
