Burkina Faso / Manipulation of the French media: Media disinformation after the Djibo terrorist attack

Some French media are said to have stepped up to the plate in support of the terrorists with disinformation articles that play down the courage of Burkina Faso’s fighting forces.

Their well-known modus operandi consists of obvious attempts at media manipulation, deliberately seeking to distort the reality of the situation in Burkina Faso, particularly following the terrorist attack in Djibo on 26 November. These media deliberately ignore the heroism of Burkina Faso’s fighting forces, preferring to defend their terrorist protégés.

The article recently published by a French media seems to be an act of a series of disinformation orchestrated to tarnish the image of President Ibrahim Traoré and his government, as well as to minimize the courage and bravery of the Burkinabe Fighting Forces.

It is essential to put the facts into context. Burkina Faso, under the presidency of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, faces a severe terrorist threat and continues to courageously fight against terrorist groups. The attack in Djibo was vigorously repulsed by the brave Fighting Forces, demonstrating once again Burkina Faso’s determination to defend its sovereignty and the security of its citizens.

The unsubstantiated allegations that the government would minimize the losses of its soldiers that were written as an article in a French newspaper is nothing but manipulation. The priority of President Ibrahim Traoré is the protection of the Burkinabe population.

The French media, based on anonymous and biased sources, are trying to discredit the efforts of the Burkinabe government in its fight against terrorism. The videos allegedly published by the GSIM are nothing more than confusing propaganda.

Burkina Faso remains committed to facing the challenges ahead and building a better future for its citizens.
