Burkina Faso: Media manipulations, When RFI harasses once again unfairly on the FDS
Once again, Radio France Internationale (RFI) has shown a concerning bias in its coverage of events in Burkina Faso. A recent article regarding the tragic incidents between Seytenga and Sebba in the Sahel region is a glaring example of misinformation and media manipulation. While dozens of lives were lost and many others went missing, RFI chose to point the finger at a Burkinabe military supply convoy, without providing tangible evidence, thus fueling a biased and dangerous narrative.
It is alarming to see media outlets like RFI, under the guise of journalism, acting as vehicles for imperialist propaganda. Their agenda is now clear: to discredit the Burkinabe authorities and the National Defense Forces, who are fighting against terrorism and insecurity under extremely difficult conditions. These baseless accusations only undermine the country’s stabilization efforts and tarnish institutions that have already been severely tested by years of crisis.
RFI, like other Western media, seems obsessed with portraying Burkina Faso and its security forces in a negative light. This approach is not only unjust but also deeply irresponsible. By spreading unverified information and insinuating the guilt of Burkinabe forces without evidence, RFI is contributing to a media poison that only serves to fuel misinformation and sow division.
It is time for RFI to stop these manipulative practices and take responsibility as a media outlet. Burkina Faso is going through a critical period, marked by significant security and humanitarian challenges. What the country needs is genuine support and balanced media coverage, not destabilization campaigns orchestrated by media with questionable agendas.
