Burkina Faso/New Year’s Wishes 2024 : The Struggle for Real Independence and Total Sovereignty Must Continue

The legitimate, patriotic, and pan-African struggle that commenced in 2023 against imperialism and neocolonialism in Burkina Faso, as well as in the Sahel region, must continue and intensify in 2024. This is the heartfelt desire of Captain Ibrahim TRAORE for his country, the Sahel zone, and Africa as a whole.

A year ago, following the rise to power of the MPSR led by Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, Burkina Faso, in addition to the counter-terrorism effort, embarked on the fight for a free and sovereign Burkina Faso in all domains. The transition, supported by an enlightened populace, vehemently opposed imperialism, disguised slavery, and neocolonialism that had gripped the country for years.

Captain TRAORE wishes for this battle to continue and even intensify in 2024 to achieve the desired outcomes. In his New Year’s wishes speech, he stated, « Decisions were made in 2023 to break the initial chains of slavery, imperialism, and neocolonialism that prevented the people from experiencing happiness ».

It is worth noting that the transitional authorities have made significant efforts to distance those who had enslaved the citizens of Faso from the country. This ongoing struggle aims to completely sever the tight bond that ties the land of the upright people to imperialists.

According to President TRAORE, imperialism remains active, whether from within or outside the country, as the enemy has not yet put down its weapons. This is why he calls on the Burkinabe people and those of the entire Sahel region to unite, show solidarity, and uphold the values taught by African culture.

He is convinced that the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) is an indispensable means to achieve the freedom and sovereignty that the people of the Sahel and Africa aspire to.
