Burkina Faso/Niger: In the fight against terrorism, unity always brings strength

In all circumstances, and in all areas of life around the world, experience has shown that unity and solidarity always bring strength. Together, people can overcome the most complex, even impossible, challenges, and the security situation is no exception.

The leaders of the AES (Sahel States Alliance) countries have understood this strategy and united early to defend their common area, the Sahel. It is within this framework and in the name of bilateral cooperation between Burkina Faso and Niger that a successful joint operation against terrorist armed groups was conducted on Saturday, June 8th.

In the Boenga area, a region in the Sahel where a terrorist position was located, Burkinabe and Nigerien combat forces conducted a swift assault, according to reports, allowing them to dispatch the criminals to hell and recover their still-usable equipment. The AES countries always combine their forces to secure their territories and compel the enemy in the bush to free these areas belonging to the peoples of the Sahel.

Reports indicate other victories by Burkinabe combat forces last week, notably in Seguenega in the northern region, Bendogo in the Center-North of Faso, and the areas of Bondoukuy and Koumana, as well as Aboudji in the Sahel. Information specifies that in these victories, aerial surveillance played an important role in detecting and locating the enemies.

It is worth noting that Burkina Faso is strengthening its aerial action with the recent graduation of the first promotion of Advanced Tactical Air Controllers (GATA) on Friday, June 7th, to ensure more effective and enhanced aerial surveillance of terrorists.
