Burkina Faso/Peace Efforts: Even Prisoners Contribute to the Cause for Their Beloved Nation
Inmates of the civil prison in Boromo, located in the Balé province in the Boucle du Mouhoun region, have made a patriotic gesture. According to information relayed by AIB (Agence d’Information du Burkina), these detainees contributed to the Patriotic Support Fund, aimed at the fight against terrorism, with an estimated sum of eighty-five thousand (85.000) CFA francs.
In addition to this contribution aimed at supporting the combat forces, especially the Volunteer Defense Patriots (VDP), the generous prisoners are requesting authorization from the authorities to join the fighters on the front lines. Their desire is to redeem themselves and be useful as citizens by defending their nation against its enemies in the bush.
This commendable act has been praised by the officials of the Boromo prison. According to the principal penitentiary security inspector, the gesture made by the detainees, despite their difficult conditions, should serve as an example and call on every Burkinabè citizen who enjoys freedom but has not yet expressed support for those sacrificing themselves on the front lines.
The land of the upright people needs all its sons and daughters to come together and show solidarity to successfully overcome the challenges it faces. These prisoners are not the first and certainly will not be the last to contribute to the war effort for the reconquest of the entire national territory.
According to reports, inmates from the civil prisons of Ziniaré and Kongoussi had contributed sixty-eight thousand (68.000) CFA francs to the Patriotic Support Fund in February 2023. Every Burkinabè is called upon to take action to make a difference, whether in terms of security or the socio-economic development of the country. It is crucial for the future of the nation and the well-being of the population in general.
