After a brief visit to Accra, the capital of Ghana, for the inauguration ceremony of the new president, John Dramani MAHAMA, the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, returned to his country on the evening of Tuesday, January 7, 2025. While in Accra, he met with and spoke to his compatriots living in the Republic of Ghana. The critical issue of security in Burkina Faso was discussed.

President Ibrahim TRAORE reassured his fellow citizens of the certain victory not only over terrorism but also against imperialism, which has been fueling this scourge in Africa for over a decade. “This war, we will win. We will defeat the imperialism that fuels terrorism in our region to keep us under its control and exploit us”, he stated to his compatriots, who were gathered in large numbers.

For him, “Africa is waking up, and no one will be able to divide us and impose their will”. This assurance comforts and strengthens the hopes of Burkinabe people both inside and outside the country, as well as all Africans who yearn for sovereignty and true freedom for effective development. It is known, based on the limited experience with the Burkinabe head of state, that nothing leaves his mouth unless he is truly sure of what he says.

He has repeatedly demonstrated that he keeps his word and does everything in his power to honor his promises and commitments. Since his rise to the highest office in the country of honest men, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE has continuously worked and intensified efforts for a total victory against criminals and plunderers of the nation’s natural resources. The strength of the national army has been increased for this cause, and over the days, weeks, and months, the Burkinabe people have witnessed a radical change in the country’s security situation.
