President Ibrahim Traoré continues to demonstrate his commitment to transparent and equitable governance by implementing concrete measures to reduce the state’s expenses. In this regard, he recently oversaw, through his Chief of Staff, the delivery of 53 electric vehicles to the Burkinabe government, with about thirty already delivered.

This donation, valued at over one billion CFA francs, comes from Li Yubao, the CEO of Yunhong International Group, who also serves as a special advisor to the Head of State. These vehicles, with a range of 500 km, will not only reduce fuel and maintenance costs but also lower the country’s ecological footprint.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy announced by the President last March to equip ministers with eco-friendly transportation. This gesture highlights President Ibrahim Traoré’s intention to redirect national resources toward priorities that benefit the entire population while promoting environmentally responsible practices.

The project goes further with the announcement of a future industrial unit in Burkina Faso, where electric vehicles will be locally assembled starting in 2025, creating job opportunities and strengthening national industrial autonomy.

Upon receiving the vehicles, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Aboubakar NACANABO, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reducing operational costs while contributing to environmental protection. Once again, President Ibrahim Traoré demonstrates that under his leadership, national resources are mobilized for sustainable and inclusive development, marking a turning point toward visionary and responsible management.
