Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré in council of ministers on Thursday

Since last week, rumors spread by the enemies of the Burkinabe people have claimed that President Ibrahim Traoré, the Head of State, fled the capital, fearing for his life. This morning, the leader of the Burkinabe people likely made an appearance, still in his military uniform, to tell the people of Burkina Faso that the fight for reclamation and sovereignty continues.

Before the start of the Council of Ministers, the Head of State visited the staff of RTB (Broadcasting Television of Burkina) to reassure them following the incident on June 12th. According to the President, those responsible for the building’s security mishandled their equipment, causing the shot to be fired. Thank God, there was no loss of life, reassured President Ibrahim Traoré.

President Ibrahim Traoré’s physical appearance this Thursday sends a dual message: the first is to reassure the Burkinabe people regarding the unfounded rumors about his supposed flight from the capital Ouagadougou for security reasons. With this appearance this morning, the Burkinabe people will feel at ease. The second message is directed at his detractors who have flooded the media and social networks with false information to create confusion among the Burkinabè people.

This is an opportunity for the people to discern between those who manipulate for their own interests and those of their neo-colonial patrons, and those who fight day and night for the BurkinabE people to regain their former freedom.
