Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré puts his money where his mouth is by equipping the army with several pick-ups

The Head of State of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has just made available a number of state pick-ups to support the army’s fight against terrorism, which has been present in Faso for years. His pick-ups were in poor condition. As a result, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has invested in refitting and militarising them.

Indeed, the reinforcement of military equipment is one of the favourable means by which Captain Ibrahim Traoré has deemed to support the fight against insecurity and violent extremism in Burkina Faso. His pick-ups will allow the army to move around the 40 provinces of Faso in case of emergency and will go to the front and contribute to the fight against terrorism.

For the time being, the objective is already set. According to the President of the transition, Ibrahim Traoré, the work has already begun. His objective is to save Burkina Faso and to ensure the peace of his compatriots. The fight against terrorism is his top priority.

“I want to know about these types of vehicles (pick-ups) that we call Land Cruisers, whether they are broken down, minor breakdowns, list everything. Everything that can contribute to the fight, locally found, we will go to fight with” declared́ in a firm voice, Captain Ibrahim Traoré to the different general secretaries, at the beginning of his taking power.
