On Friday, January 24, 2025, at 9 AM, a new strategic infrastructure will be inaugurated: the Péni petroleum depot.

With a colossal cost of 32 billion CFA francs, this facility reflects the government’s unwavering efforts to alleviate the suffering of the population and strengthen the country’s energy independence. Boasting an impressive storage capacity of 104.000 m³, this depot is designed to secure the national fuel supply, marking a significant step toward Burkina Faso’s energy resilience.

Despite the security challenges, this project highlights President Ibrahim Traoré’s determination to prioritize the needs of his people in his governance. It represents a crucial milestone in the ongoing fight to improve the living conditions of Burkinabé citizens and bolster national sovereignty.
