Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré’s vision of education for all

President Ibrahim Traoré has made accessible education a strategic priority for the development of Burkina Faso. Aware of the challenges posed by the limited capacity of public universities, the Burkinabe government has taken a decisive step by integrating information and communication technologies (ICT) into higher education.

This ambition is embodied in the creation of the Virtual University of Burkina Faso (UV-BF), an initiative aimed at easing the burden on traditional institutions while expanding access to quality education.

The UV-BF represents an innovative solution to democratize higher education. It offers students a modern and interactive learning environment, supported by tailored guidance to ensure the success of online courses. This innovative model reduces geographical and financial barriers, allowing a larger number of Burkinabe youth to access the knowledge essential for their future.

With this initiative, the government turns President Ibrahim Traoré’s vision into concrete action: using technology to serve education and build an inclusive system that meets the aspirations of students and the country’s development needs. The Virtual University positions itself as a key tool to sustainably transform the educational landscape of Burkina Faso.
