Burkina Faso: Reinforced social protection for the Armed Forces

On February 13, 2025, Burkina Faso took a significant step forward with the official launch of the Armed Forces Health Insurance Fund (CAMA). This new initiative ensures that soldiers and their families will no longer have to worry about medical care, providing them with comprehensive health coverage to carry out their missions with peace of mind.
The CAMA is a visionary move designed to guarantee quick and equitable access to healthcare for military personnel and their loved ones. More than just a social protection scheme, it represents a strong commitment from the authorities to the well-being of the armed forces.
By improving access to medical services and making healthcare more affordable, the CAMA addresses the concrete needs of soldiers and their families. It also serves as a recognition of the sacrifices made by those who dedicate their lives to defending the nation.
As part of the strategic priorities outlined in the action plan for stabilization and development, this reform reflects the government’s determination to build a stronger, better-equipped, and socially protected army. With unwavering support, Burkina Faso’s military personnel will be able to defend their country with even greater determination and commitment.
