In a powerful address to the nation on December 11th, the President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, reaffirmed the country’s unwavering determination to regain full control of its territory and secure its natural resources. The speech, delivered on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day, highlighted the government’s commitment to protecting the nation’s sovereignty from external threats.

President Traoré condemned imperialist forces seeking to exploit Burkina Faso’s rich natural resources, keeping the country in a state of dependency. “We are victims of our wealth”, he declared, stressing that these resources would be defended at all costs. He made it clear that the army, alongside security forces and patriotic volunteers, would relentlessly pursue the enemies of the nation, no matter where they might be located.

The President also announced the intensification of military operations, both on the ground and through air interventions, aimed at neutralizing terrorists and other hostile forces. “We will pursue them to their last stronghold and eliminate them to the last”, Traoré asserted, while offering one final chance for the enemies to lay down their arms and surrender.

President Traoré’s message also reflected the resilient spirit of the Burkinabé people, a nation with a proud history of struggle, courage, and dignity. “We are a proud, fighting, warrior, and dignified people”, he emphasized, reaffirming that the country would never succumb to attempts of subjugation.

In closing, the President expressed his gratitude to all those contributing to the defense of the nation, paying tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for Burkina Faso’s freedom and independence. His speech served as a call for unity and national mobilization, encouraging the people of Burkina Faso to continue building a sovereign and prosperous future.
