Burkina Faso / Russia: open and transparent cooperation! (Minister Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo)

During the 9th International Cultural Forum held last weekend in Saint Petersburg, Russia, the Burkinabe Minister in charge of Culture, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, highlighted the authenticity and transparency characterizing the cooperation between Burkina Faso and Russia. In an interview with the Russian television channel RT, the minister stated that these relations are marked by evident frankness and honesty.

«Everyone knows today that relations are close between Burkina Faso and Russia, and above all, they are honest and transparent relations», affirmed Minister Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo. He emphasized that diplomacy between the two countries is based on sincerity, thus meeting the expectations of the Burkinabe people.

According to the minister, cooperation is not a facade but a genuine collaboration evident across various levels, including in the military and healthcare sectors. «On the military front, it is evident today, beyond military relations, in relations concerning health», he supported.

Moreover, Minister Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo highlighted a recent Russian mission to Burkina Faso in combating the dengue epidemic, showcasing the diversity of cooperation areas. He also emphasized Russia’s agricultural aspect, indicating that Burkina Faso will draw lessons from the Russian experience to promote its agriculture.

To conclude, Mr. Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo stressed the shared values between the two peoples, such as the rejection of imperialism and the vision of non-domination. He commended the visionary leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré and expressed confidence in the consolidation of this positive dynamic between the two nations.
