Burkina Faso: Scramble in the terrorist bases, after the attack of the Burkinabe army.
At the beginning of the week, several terrorist bases were raided by the Burkinabe Army in the commune of Kaya, capital of the province of Sanmatenga, after incursions by armed groups who notably ransacked the Gendarmerie and the town hall of Mané.
The National Armed Forces (FAN) have conducted operations to neutralise the terrorists who are scouring the north-central region of Burkina Faso. Army units carried out air and ground operations that targeted “several bases of armed terrorist groups in several villages in the commune of Kaya and in other localities in the north of the province of Sanmatenga at the beginning of the week,” local sources reported.
According to some observers, “several terrorists have been killed and large quantities of equipment have been destroyed. Anti-terrorist operations were carried out on Tuesday 29 November 2022 against positions and movements of armed individuals in villages around the commune of Kaya.
The resurgence of terrorist attacks in this area of Burkina Faso has considerably exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in several towns hosting internally displaced persons (IDPs), such as Kaya and Pibaoré, in Sanmatenga, and Boala and Boulsa, in Namentenga.
