Burkina Faso/Security: Minister SANA takes coercive measures as soon as he takes office
In response to the insecurity caused by terrorism and widespread banditry in Burkina Faso, the Minister of National Security, Police Commissioner Minister Mahamadou SANA, is taking decisive action. Upon assuming office on Tuesday, August 6, he called on his colleagues to support efforts to improve the security of both urban and rural areas in the country.
To further bolster security across Burkina Faso, Minister SANA is also seeking the involvement of the Burkinabe population. In a statement dated Thursday, August 8, 2024, the head of the Ministry of Security urged citizens to remain highly vigilant and contribute to the protection of the country by reporting any suspicious individuals, movements, or objects.
Firmly committed to reclaiming the entirety of the national territory, ensuring comprehensive security, and protecting people and property in line with the vision of President Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, Minister SANA is full of initiatives. He has pledged to continue the various projects already underway to effectively achieve these goals.
Last Tuesday, he also called on his colleagues and the combat units deployed on the battlefield to prepare for a high-intensity war. This preparation will require intelligence on the country’s security situation, decisive action, ingenuity, pragmatism, and patriotism, in order to better meet the challenges ahead, for the benefit of all Burkinabé and for a free and prosperous Burkina Faso.
