Burkina Faso/Security: President TRAORE made sure he had the men he needed, in the place he needed
In all sectors related to the security of the country, especially in Burkina Faso, President du Faso has endeavored to appoint patriotic and trustworthy individuals. The Customs sector is no exception. This service in Burkina Faso, responsible for securing commercial exchanges at borders and combating illicit trafficking, is led by loyal and honest individuals.
Often, and in many countries, especially in Africa, these places are prone to corruption. Agents sometimes allow fraudulent products or counterfeits to pass through for their own interests, without regard for the health or lives of their fellow citizens.
Aware of the situation and determined to protect his Burkinabe brothers and sisters at all costs, President du Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has ensured that strategic positions are held by individuals who prioritize defending and safeguarding the people’s interests, rather than enriching themselves.
In this context, the customs at Dakola, positioned on the border with Ghana, were able to detect and seize shipments of over a thousand tons of rice declared as spoiled and unfit for consumption in May 2024, following sample analysis. The goods originated from Pakistan and were valued at 322.233.840 FCFA.
According to reports, the agents were praised and urged to redouble their efforts to prevent anything unfit for consumption from entering. As for the offender, it is requested that justice take action to deter other traders who might consider this illegal profit route, at the expense of public health.
