Burkina Faso: The Arab Republic of Egypt reaffirms its support for the Burkinabè transition
The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Burkina Faso, Mr. Ibrahim ELKHOULI, was received in audience on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, by the delegate minister in charge of Security, Principal Police Commissioner Mahamadou SANA, in the capital, Ouagadougou. Ambassador Ibrahim ELKHOULI stated that he came to discuss with Delegate Minister Mahamadou SANA issues of training and security cooperation between his country, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Burkina Faso.
«We focused our discussions on an action plan between our two countries for training benefiting the executives of the Burkinabè national police», said the Egyptian diplomat after the audience with Delegate Minister Mahamadou SANA.
Indeed, Egypt has intensified its training efforts with Burkina Faso, particularly benefiting the «executives of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of Burkina Faso», specifically the Gendarmerie and the national police, while adapting to the challenging security context, explained the Egyptian diplomat.
Ambassador Ibrahim ELKHOULI further affirmed that Egypt has always stood by Burkina Faso and has been in solidarity with its people, both in times of peace and times of crisis.
This solidarity, according to him, has intensified since Burkina Faso has been facing a challenging security situation.
During the meeting with Delegate Minister SANA, Ambassador Ibrahim ELKHOULI emphasized that it was an opportunity to reiterate the support of the Egyptian people to their Burkinabe brothers and to assure them that they are not alone in this fight.
For this reason, Ambassador Ibrahim ELKHOULI expressed the hope of seeing much more African solidarity towards the Burkinabe people who are waging a significant fight against terrorism under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, Head of State.
