Burkina Faso : The Government implements a revolutionary digital platform for the modernization of the land sector
The development of Burkina Faso remains one of the major priorities of the Head of State, President of the Burkinabe Revolution, H.E. Captain Ibrahim Traoré. In this perspective, a decisive step has just been taken in the quest for a modern Burkina Faso, particularly in the field of land.
On March 12th, the authorities inaugurated in Ouagadougou a revolutionary digital platform called « Cadastre fiscal ». This unprecedented initiative aims to comprehensively catalog all data related to private plots and housing throughout the country.
The main objective of this online database is to increase transparency in the evaluation of the national real estate assets. By providing access to reliable and up-to-date information on properties held by developers and cooperatives, it represents an essential tool for more effective management of the land sector.
Maxime Tiendrébéogo, from the Ministry of Urbanism, emphasized the importance of this initiative by stating, « The committee members collected administrative data from the relevant ministries as well as from developers and cooperatives ». This collaboration ensures the reliability and completeness of the information gathered.
By March 22nd, all information regarding the area, costs, state of development, and other characteristics of real estate properties must be entered into the platform. This collection of comprehensive and accurate information constitutes a major advancement in the modernization of Burkina Faso’s land sector, thereby meeting the needs for transparent and efficient management of national real estate resources.
