Burkina Faso: The government is active in the fight against corruption.
The Burkinabe government is committed to fighting corruption. The Ministry in charge of the Public Service being the pioneer, brought together these officers to validate a preliminary draft of the code of ethics and deontology of this department this Thursday, November 24, 2022. At the end of the work, a platform is designed to receive complaints from users who are not satisfied with a service in the public administration. The aim of this platform is to promote better service to agents for the benefit of users and contribute to the effective fight against corruption.
This text is the first of its kind within a ministry and the Department of Public Service, Labour and Social Protection wants to experiment with it before accompanying other ministries to develop specifically their Codes of Ethics and Ethics.
The platform is not only designed to receive complaints. It also serves to encourage officers whose users have appreciated the quality of the work,” said Idrissa Sinon, Inspector General of Public Service Services. According to this code, currently being validated, highlights the behaviour of the agents vis-à-vis the populations in the context of their public service missions.
Corruption, misappropriation of public goods and mismanagement of public procurement remain a concern in Burkina Faso. Faced with this situation, the Burkinabe government clapped its fist on the table to curb this scourge. And as a measure, the government has developed a national strategy to prevent and combat corruption.
It is time to significantly reduce corruption to ensure the conditions for a harmonious economic and social development in Burkina Faso.
