Burkina Faso: The Ministry of Security calls on Burkinabe to wear helmets to save lives and promote exemplary driving
The Ministry of Security of Burkina Faso reminds all citizens that wearing a helmet has been mandatory since January 1st for all motorcyclists and their passengers. This measure aims to reduce the alarming mortality rate related to motorcycle accidents, which constitute a major threat to road safety. Given this concerning situation, wearing a helmet becomes an essential action to protect one’s life and the lives of others.
Wearing a helmet is a way to protect oneself from severe injuries in the event of an accident, but it also means respecting the laws in force and avoiding fines. By adopting this practice, everyone helps reduce the dramatic consequences of road accidents. ‘Wearing a helmet is saving your life and living longer’.
Complying with this obligation is a civic duty and an act of individual responsibility. The ministry invites all Burkinabè citizens to make wearing a helmet a daily habit, in order to protect not only their own lives but also promote exemplary behavior on the roads. Let us all wear our helmets and contribute to a safer and more law-abiding Burkina Faso.
