Burkina Faso: The President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso granted an audience to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco

The President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso, Ousmane Bougouma, received in audience the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Youssef Slaoui, on April, 27th, 2023.  The main purpose of this meeting was to discuss cooperation between the two countries.

During this meeting, the two personalities exchanged views on ways to strengthen relations and reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as discussing prospects for the future.

The President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly expressed his satisfaction with the relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both peoples.

He also expressed his admiration for Morocco’s economic and social development and praised the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.

On his part, the Ambassador of Morocco reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in its economic and social development.

 He emphasized the importance of South-South cooperation and expressed Morocco’s willingness to share its experience in several areas.

He also expressed his satisfaction with the abolition of visas between the two countries, following the agreement signed in Dakhla on October 23rd, 2020. This agreement promotes the free movement of capital and goods and services.

«This initiative is a very symbolic act in terms of sub-regional integration. Because this integration begins first and foremost with the freedom of movement of peoples», said the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco.

This meeting between the President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco demonstrates the importance attached by both countries to bilateral cooperation and their shared commitment to promoting economic and social development in Africa.

 It also helped to strengthen cooperation ties.
