Burkina-Faso: The underside of France’s support for the fight against terrorism. Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo: France «is part of Burkina Faso’s security problem»
Support for France in the fight against terrorism in the Sahel is a pure hypocrisy, either to appear concerned about the fate of the former colonies plagued by this scourge, but above all to satisfy its selfish and malevolent interests and maintain its domination in the countries concerned.
Jjihadism in the Sahel could be thwarted, and even stifled from its birth, if the political decision-makers had not requested the military support of France, which came to give a boost to the terrorists, through these various operations (Serva , Barkhane, Saber…).
Today the Burkinabe minister of communication and government spokesperson lifts the veil on the true face of this support. He did not go through all four paths to blame France for the expansion of terrorism in his country.
According to his statements, the support of the former colonial power has not been sincere, transparent and forceful.
«We are convinced of one thing. if the French partner were a sincere partner and in a dynamic of transparent, energetic and committed aid to Burkina Faso, we would not be there».
Despite France’s progress in terms of armaments and intelligence equipment, jihadism has gained ground over the years, to the point of spreading to the countries of the Gulf of Guinea.
Long columns of terrorists made their progress and attacked the positions of the military and poor populations while the French troops who had great capacities were on the spot but did not inform of their movements.
Worse, the French soldiers collaborated with these criminal gangs. If these enemies of peace and security had an advantage over the regular armed forces, it was because they benefited from the training, funding and even a clandestine supply of arms from the European state.
It is on the strength of this observation that the new generation, which has come to power certainly through coups d’etat, due to the negligence and unwillingness of their leaders to secure their peoples, has chosen to break these unproductive and harmful military agreements. to define their own strategiesto them to eradicate the phenomenon.through their determination to fight fiercely and without complacency against criminal groups, “who defend nothing, and have no ideals”, the scourge is brought under control.
According to Minister Ouédraogo, «if we had assumed ourselves earlier and had made the right decisions, we would not be here today».
