Burkina-Faso: The Victory of Fighting Forces Over Terrorists in a Forest in the Country
The fight led by the Burkinabe Fighting Forces on the operational theaters to reconquer the territory is unprecedented. It feels like a war movie, but make no mistake, it’s real and it’s the daily life of the valiant combat forces in the country. On the ground and in the air, the engaged forces are waging an intense battle. The ongoing offensive in the country, called Koulpélgo II, continues and is at act 3.
The offensive is being conducted in the Nouawo forest, where terrorists have established a base, prohibiting all activities of the local populations, who have deserted the area. Rapid Intervention Battalions (BIR) 3, 6, and 11, supported by aerial assets, will destroy a terrorist base and significant equipment.
After the airstrikes, the ground battalion sweeps the area to neutralize any fleeing terrorists and recover logistics present at the base. This operation aims to free the locality from terrorist threats and reinstate the population. The offensive was led by all Fighting Forces engaged in the fight against terrorism. Operations continue until the total liberation of the country.
