Burkina Faso : Tiken Jah Fakoly Stands with President Ibrahim Traoré for True African Independence
This Friday, renowned Ivorian reggae artist Tiken Jah Fakoly met with the Head of State of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, expressing his steadfast commitment to the true independence of Africa. During the audience, the artist addressed the theme of African unity, emphasizing that the current struggle in Burkina Faso is a fight for Africa and for the genuine realization of independence.
Tiken Jah Fakoly mentioned that the independence granted in 1960 was a “photocopy,” and the current generation aspires to reclaim the true essence of that independence without hostility towards anyone. He insisted on the peaceful nature of this quest, stating that their intention was not to oppose anyone but rather to demand authentic freedom for all Africans.
The artist praised Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s commitment to the fight against terrorism and for the sovereignty of Burkina Faso. According to Tiken Jah Fakoly, President Ibrahim Traoré’s struggle is intrinsically linked to the freedom of Africa, and he expressed his support and congratulations to the Head of State for his courageous efforts in this endeavor.
In the spirit of Pan-African solidarity, Tiken Jah Fakoly emphasized that President Ibrahim Traoré’s fight was not directed against any particular person but rather in favor of collective freedom. He assured Captain Ibrahim Traoré of his active support in raising awareness among the population, stating that the Burkinabè people are in agreement with the direction taken by their leader.
Currently in Burkina Faso for two concerts in Bobo-Dioulasso and Ouagadougou, Tiken Jah Fakoly considers this period as an opportunity to support the Burkinabè people.
