Burkina-Faso: Togo, model of peace inspires Burkinabe and Malian diplomaties
Burkina Faso and Mali, represented at the Lomé Peace and Security Forum, mark the commitment of the Malian and Burkinabe governments to lead the ongoing political transition in their respective countries in peace and security. At this international meeting, African actors called for coordinated support for political transitions.
According to the head of Burkinabe diplomacy, Olivia Rouamba, the ideal of democratic government in Africa must find its foundations in African realities with the focus, the deep aspirations of the people.
Received by Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé on the sidelines of the work of this international meeting, Burkinabe and Malian diplomats with their host, exchanged on issues of peace and security, which are dear to the three countries with the same security challenge, and the excellent cooperation between these sister countries.
What to remember from this head-to-head between the three personalities? A possible accession of Togo, a «model of peace» in the sub-region, within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES)? Since, the three men exchanged on current issues and common interest for the Burkinabe peoples of Mali and Togo. In any case, a future rapprochement between Togo and the AES countries will give a new impetus to the fight against terrorism, a phenomenon that also affects Togo in its northern part.
