Burkina Faso: When the DGSE misappropriates AFD funds to plan destabilization in West Africa

A troubling threat hangs over Burkina Faso and the West African region: recent information reveals that a destabilization project, orchestrated by agents from the Directorate General of External Security (DGSE), is in the works. This plan particularly targets the Patriotic Movement for Safeguard and Restoration (MPSR), led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who is striving to bring peace and stability to a country plagued by terrorist attacks.

According to sources close to the Quai d’Orsay, a complex and well-funded operation is currently being prepared. Millions of euros, initially allocated for development projects by the French Development Agency (AFD) for 2024, have allegedly been diverted to support actions aimed at destabilizing not only Burkina Faso but also other countries in the subregion.

This transfer of funds, which contradicts announced development commitments, casts doubt on the sincerity of certain foreign powers’ involvement in the Sahel. The goal of this dubious financial maneuver is to reactivate dormant terrorist cells to ignite chaos in the Sahel and weaken the states engaged in the fight against terrorism.

Burkina Faso, under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, is seen by the people as a bastion of resistance against neocolonialism and foreign interference. This is likely why it is at the top of the target list. This scheme would involve reigniting areas of tension, using terrorist groups as tools to weaken the stability of sovereign nations. Other countries, such as Mali, Niger, and even Togo, are said to be at risk, which could plunge the entire region into chaos with disastrous consequences for the populations.

As citizens in the region aspire to lasting peace, it is essential to expose these shady maneuvers that, under the guise of assistance and cooperation, seek to manipulate the region. These serious allegations show how far some powers are willing to go to destabilize countries in order to preserve geopolitical and economic interests.
