Burkina Faso: Why are French Media targeting president Ibrahim Traoré?
Since his rise to power, President Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso has successfully transformed the Burkinabe army into a formidable force, disrupting imperialist plans to destabilize the sub-region through terrorism. This success, coupled with his crucial role in the Sahel States Alliance (AES), deeply unsettles France and its media allies.
Under previous regimes, terrorist attacks were common, resulting in the deaths of over 150 civilians in Burkinabe villages. However, since President Traoré took the helm, the situation has drastically improved. Terrorists, once ubiquitous, are now relentlessly pursued and struggle to find safe havens.
The strategy of strengthening the Burkinabe army and creating synergy with the forces of Mali and Niger has borne fruit. Together, these countries are waging a fierce battle against terrorism in the Sahel, despite constant attempts by imperialists and their local accomplices to hinder their efforts.
France, seeing its interests threatened by this new dynamic of stability and independence, uses its media to discredit and attack the government of Captain Ibrahim Traoré and the AES countries.
France and its media view President Ibrahim Traoré and his counterparts in Mali and Niger as obstacles to their imperialist ambitions in the region. Their campaigns of misinformation and denigration are merely reactions to the failure of their destabilization strategies in the face of a revitalized Burkinabe army and a strengthened Sahelian alliance.
