CAF/Football: Eto’o heard in Cairo on match-fixing allegations
Following accusations of match-fixing, Samuel Eto’o was heard by the CAF disciplinary committee. Since his election as head of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o has faced numerous criticisms from other members of the Federation.
After heated exchanges, these disagreements were brought before the CAF disciplinary committee according to reports. The African Football Confederation will have to make a decision.
Samuel Eto’o is accused of fixing national championship matches, favoring the promotion of Victoria United to the first division, and signing a sponsorship contract with a betting company. He continues to deny these allegations.
If found guilty of these accusations, he risks a lifetime suspension from any football-related activities. The verdict of the hearing has not yet been delivered.
