Congo Brazzaville : Historic Agreement with Gabon for the Construction of a Transborder Road
The Delegate Minister to the President of the Transition, Mr. Hermann IMMONGAULT, recently made history by signing a protocol agreement with his Congolese counterpart, Raymond Zéphirin MBOULOU, Minister of the Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development. This agreement, sealed in Kabala, at the border between Gabon and Congo, focuses on the construction of a strategically important transborder road.
The project for this ambitious road aims to connect Ekata in the Zadié department (Ogooué-Ivindo) to Bekongo in the Mbomo district, Olloba area, Cuvette Ouest department (Congo). The realization of this major infrastructure will be entrusted to the Gabonese company, Global Mine Development (GMD).
The main objective of this transborder road is to facilitate mining exploration and exploitation operations in Gabon by the Global Mine Development company. Beyond mining interests, this road will serve as a strategic link conducive to the economic, social, and cultural development of both nations.
This initiative will boost trade, migratory flows, tourism, scientific cooperation, and contribute to environmental preservation. By connecting two key regions, Gabon and Congo strengthen their bilateral relations and pave the way for successful collaboration, demonstrating a shared vision for the future.
