Burkina Faso/ Council of Ministers: Important decisions made regarding the progress of the Transition by Captain Ibrahim TRAORE
On Wednesday, President of the Transition and Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, presided over the Council of Ministers, which examined several items on its agenda and made significant decisions regarding the progress of the Transition, according to the government spokesperson, Jean Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO.
Under the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Prospective, the council approved a draft bill establishing the Investment and Deposit Fund of Burkina Faso.
According to the Minister of Economy, Finance, and Prospective, Aboubacar NACANABO, this fund was created following the dissolution of the Deposit and Consignment Fund due to operational issues.
This new version of the fund introduces several innovations, including a change of name to incorporate the investment aspect, the reconfiguration of the Supervisory Board for more transparency, and the involvement of relevant stakeholders in the establishment process.
Still, under the Ministry of Economy, the council approved a draft decree regulating the sale of reformed movable and material assets of the State and its subdivisions.
«Auctions have always been conducted in a conventional manner, and we have noticed shortcomings such as a lack of transparency. We have developed a digital platform so that auctions can now take place online», said Minister NACANABO.
This decree will provide a legal framework for this new way of conducting auctions, enhancing efficiency and transparency in the auction system.
Additionally, the council, under the same ministry, adopted two decrees that bring significant changes to entities under the Ministry of Sports, Youth, and Employment.
The first decree involves the creation of a state administrative public institution called “Burkina Suudu Bawdè”, resulting from the merger of several state administrative public institutions under the technical supervision of the Ministry responsible for sports and involved in vocational training.
The second decree establishes the roles, functions, and operation of «Burkina Yin-wisgr Meta» following the consolidation of several entities within the Sports department responsible for managing sports and recreational facilities.
According to the Minister of Sports, Youth, and Employment, Boubacar SAVADOGO, these two decrees will inject more dynamism, coherence, and efficiency into the functioning of these entities falling under his department.
