DRC: Kinshasa and Doha strengthen relations for promising cooperation
President Félix Tshisekedi met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the State of Qatar. This meeting is part of a strategic rapprochement aimed at strengthening the ties between the two nations.
The discussions centered on investments in key sectors of the DRC, a country rich in natural resources and growth potential. Global peace and stability were also addressed, reflecting a shared vision for a safer and more prosperous future.
Ms. Valérie Lusamba, the DRC’s ambassador to Qatar, emphasized the importance of this emerging partnership. “The relations between our two states are recent, and it is imperative to nurture them”, she stated, highlighting the mutual interest of both nations in strengthening their collaboration.
This meeting marks a significant step in consolidating the ties between Kinshasa and Doha. It paves the way for concrete initiatives that could transform the economic landscape of the DRC while expanding Qatar’s influence in Africa.
