DRC: President Félix Tshisekedi and his strong message for judicial integrity

At the opening of the proceedings held at the Financial Center in Kinshasa, the President of the DRC, Félix Tshisekedi, issued a solemn warning to Congolese judges. In response to the abuses and misconduct observed within the judicial system, he promised strict sanctions against those who compromise their integrity and betray the principles of justice.

In his speech, President Félix Tshisekedi delivered a clear message: “The nation is watching you, and know that any failure, any shortcoming, or any compromise with honesty and integrity will now be sanctioned”. These words signal a determined effort to restore the credibility of the Congolese judicial system, an essential pillar in guaranteeing citizens’ rights and ensuring fairness within institutions.

President Félix Tshisekedi has made the fight against corruption and judicial malpractice one of his top priorities, convinced that the rule of law cannot be established without a credible and exemplary judiciary. By demanding probity from judges, he is addressing the root causes of the dysfunctions that undermine the public’s trust in the institutions.

This stance is not only aimed at cleaning up the sector but also serves as a reminder to every player in the justice system of their responsibility to the nation.
