DRC: President Félix Tshisekedi unveils his vision for an integrated and economically transformed Africa
During the 23rd Summit of Heads of State and Government of COMESA, President Félix Tshisekedi expressed his ambitious vision for Africa, focused on regional integration and economic transformation. In commemorating three decades of the organization, he emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between African nations to build a stronger and more resilient Africa. This summit, he noted, is an opportunity to reflect on ways to collaborate more effectively to promote collective prosperity.
President Félix Tshisekedi stressed the need to transform African economies to break the dependence on exporting unprocessed raw materials. According to him, developing value chains in Africa that can process and enrich local resources is essential for job creation and empowering young Africans to shape the continent’s future.
He also highlighted regional solidarity as a driver of growth. “My country, rich in immense agricultural and mining potential, wishes to work hand in hand with each of you to make our resources a lever for common prosperity,” he stated, underscoring the importance of integrating resources into regional value chains to ensure food and energy security for all.
Thus, the Congolese Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to a future where Africa harnesses its potential to thrive independently. His speech reflects a strong desire to unite African forces and build a more resilient and prosperous continent through regional cooperation and economic innovation.
