PSG: Dramatic Turn in Ethan Mbappé’s case

Like his brother, Ethan Mbappé is contractually linked to the capital club until next June. And while he seemed to want to stay in France, his family has asked Real Madrid to recruit him.

The situation is getting a little tense with the Mbappé family. For those who may have spent a few weeks on another planet, the announcement of Kylian Mbappé’s departure from PSG (to join Real Madrid) caused a media tsunami within the football world. At 25 and after seven years at Paris Saint-Germain, the Bondynois has finally agreed to accept Real Madrid’s advances.

But this announced departure also shone the spotlight on his younger brother Ethan. At 17 years old, the latter, who has scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists this season with the Île-de-France U19 team, finds himself in the same contractual situation as his brother.

Free of any contract on July 1st, will Ethan Mbappé join his older brother in Madrid? Recruiting a member of the star recruit’s family is not an unprecedented practice in the football world.

The Mbappé family has asked for a favor from Real Madrid. And for Ethan, the question was worth asking since earlier this month, Spanish media claimed that PSG had halted all negotiations regarding an extension, offended by Kylian’s departure.

Two weeks later, the main interested party, however, reportedly made it known that he had no intention of leaving. “No, I’m a Titi, I’m staying at PSG!” But this Tuesday, El Chiringuito informs us that a new twist has occurred in this matter.

After securing Kylian’s future at Real Madrid, the family asked for a favor from the Casa Blanca: to recruit Ethan. A request that the Merengues considered and reportedly eventually accepted. Due to Kylian’s somewhat turbulent departure from PSG, did the Mbappé family want to spare his younger brother from evolving in a hostile environment next season? Such a scenario is highly possible, even though no confirmation of the Titi’s departure has reached the ears of the Rouge et Bleu.
