In a display of exceptional talent, Argentine legend Lionel Messi shone brightly during Inter Miami’s resounding victory over the New York Red Bulls, delivering five assists and scoring a goal, all in a single half.
His Uruguayan partner Luis Suárez also excelled by scoring a hat-trick during this match played in Florida. While Inter Miami struggled with a 1-0 deficit in favor of the New York Red Bulls at halftime, Lionel Messi began his show by providing the first decisive pass to Matias Rojas in the 48th minute.
Two minutes later, the Argentine icon scored a goal himself on an assist from Luis Suárez, thus turning the tide in favor of Miami. After a brace from Rojas, Messi and Suárez continued to showcase their chemistry, with the Uruguayan scoring three more goals in less than 15 minutes, from the 68th to the 81st minute.
This extraordinary performance, unprecedented in MLS history, brings Messi’s total to 10 goals and 12 assists in eight matches played. Thanks to this resounding victory, Inter Miami maintains its position atop the Eastern Conference with 24 points in 12 matches.
The New York Red Bulls, on the other hand, find themselves in fourth place with 17 points in 11 games. Messi’s exceptional performance, alongside his team, once again demonstrates their dominance on the North American football stage.
