Football: Antoine Kombouaré in the running for Cameroon head coach position after Rigobert Song’s departure

Cameroon is reportedly interested in Antoine Kombouaré to succeed Rigobert Song. In the race to replace Rigobert Song Bahanag, several names of foreign coaches are being mentioned.

According to Malick Traoré, the Cameroonian Football Federation is seriously considering Antoine Kombouaré, who recently managed FC Nantes and has extensive experience.

At 60 years old, the native of Nouméa could be a strong candidate to succeed Rigobert Song. In addition to Kombouaré, other foreign coaches are also mentioned, including Hervé Renard, Antonio Conceiçao, and Hugo Broos, all former managers of the Indomitable Lions.

After two years at the helm of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song was not renewed. Samuel Eto’o is currently preparing a shortlist of three coaches, from which President Paul Biya will make a final decision.
