Football/Audiovisual: New World TV gets new international sports competition broadcast market

The pan-African channel, New World TV has obtained the broadcast rights of the competitions of clubs of the European Union of Football Associations (UEFA) for the next three (03) seasons. The information was given by the group on Wednesday 21 February 2024 in Lomé.

This comes just ten (10) days after the closing of the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) of which it had held the exclusive rights.

According to information from the Pan-African Television based in Lomé, Togo, has won until 2027, the broadcast of four major club competitions (Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Youth League), in 26 territories of sub-Saharan Africa.

The total is over 525 matches, representing more than 96% of UEFA club competition matches. Each season, will be broadcast live in French, as well as in local languages such as Éwé, Lingala, Wolof, Bambara, Hausa and Swahili.

The acquisition of these exclusive rights comes as the European body is preparing to launch a new format for all its elite club competitions starting next season.
